Black MIDI Wiki

BRELS MIDI Editor is an open-source old-school MIDI editor developed in 2004 by Breno de Lima Sarmento that opens MIDIs exceptionally fast and can edit them with ease and efficiency. It is primarily used by Derplet1.

  • Can open MIDI files very fast and can edit them with ease. Pasting a large volume of notes does not do much to performance.
  • Exporting MIDIs is fast
  • Software is open-source

  • Outdated; does not optimize and take advantage of today's computer powers and therefore is not 64-bit nor does it support the use of multiple cores
  • Can have bugs at times
  • Can glitch and corrupt MIDI data
  • Has extremely limited features
